This is Coco, a sweet 7 year old Labradoodle, she feels most comfortable rolled up into the smallest possible ball with her face stuffed in a safe place where she can’t see anyone and hoping they can’t see her. This is the reality of many breeder dogs. Coco was bred and had numerous litters then at the usual age of 7 was no longer of value to the breeder so was sold. Unknown to the new owners Coco was very scared of pretty much everything. They loved and tried to help Coco but realized that she needed a new home because of an unexpected layoff and having to move overseas would be too hard on Coco. Such a sad existence this poor girl must have lived for 7 years. It’s truly a heart wrenching experience fostering this sweet girl, trying to get her to feel loved and comfortable in a home. Coco would have made her breeder thousands of dollars and this is her reward, FEAR, NO CONNECTION TO ANIMALS OR HUMANS, TERROR, and trying desperately to understand what is happening to her. And yes I realize not all breeders are like this, but far too many are. A tragic story that continues for far too many animals.
