This is a big order, two big dogs, together. Milly and Sophie. The apparently purebred yellow lab Milly, and Sophie, a mutt of many breeds and colors mixed into one. This is not what we care about, the breed, to us is homelessness, is neglect, to be rescued. They came from two different places, with lots of similarities. Both came from acreages, both were no longer wanted. One because she kept having pups, the other because she had a bad knee. For both, the owner was not prepared to spend any money for the surgery they needed. Both are very affectionate. Both love children. Both are good with other pets. Both love each other, have bonded while in our foster care. This is why we try to keep them together, we hope, we dream…Milly had knee surgery, twice, Sophie, of course, now is fixed. We feel that somewhere out there must be a place where tow dogs are welcome, to keep each other company while the owner cannot. Both love walks, although Sophie still needs to learn to walk with a leach properly, but with Milly around, this milestone to reach definitely will be easier. Two lovely dogs together, three and five years old, to play with, to train, to protect from harm, to love and to prove to them that dog lovers provide happy homes forever, not just for a while.
