ADOPT
ADOPTION SAVE LIVES
You are about to make a very important commitment that will change your life for the next fifteen years or more. This is not a decision to be made lightly or on impulse. Please think carefully about how this adoption will affect the lives of yourself and your family before you proceed!
We are the advocates and guardians for the animals in our care and we impose the highest standards for their welfare and happiness. We seek adoptive homes that share the same philosophy and have the love, time, space and financial resources to properly care for an animal.
STEPS TO ADOPTION
1. Complete Adoption Application
4. Sign Adoption Contract
5. Adoption Fee ($400 for dogs, $500 for dogs Under 1, $100 for cats, $150 for kittens)
Adoption fees help offset a portion of the expenses involved in caring for each animal. This includes costs for food, training, supplies, and veterinary care. These fees also support our mission to continue rescuing animals in need.
Please note: Adoption fees are non-refundable, even in the event an animal is returned for any reason, due to the time and resources required to process adoptions and potential returns.
All animals receive basic vaccinations, are micro-chipped or tattooed and spayed or neutered prior to being placed in their adoptive homes. We assess their behavior and temperaments in order to determine what would be a suitable home for them. If you would like to adopt an animal from us, we will advise you what might be the best-suited pet for your home and your lifestyle.
We don’t take chances; we don’t merely give them a chance. What we want is to give them, with your help, security and love for the rest of their lives.
Please understand that this is a volunteer-run organization. We try to review applications & get back to everyone as quickly as possible, but at peak times, this may take 2-3 days. Please be patient with us, as we really do the best we can!
Pound Rescue reserves the right to refuse an adoption to any individual who does not meet our criteria and to keep the reasons for refusal confidential within our organization.
